Author Kerr Thomson Visit 27 September 2019

“Everyone is a reader. Some just haven’t found their favourite book yet.” From our visiting author Kerr Thomson on Friday 27 September.

What a great session our S1 pupils enjoyed, with wonderful readings and a taster from his new book. We are very lucky in Moray!

We were delighted to welcome award-winning author Kerr Thomson to school on Friday 27 September, when he talked to all of our S1 cohort in the morning.

Kerr encouraged our pupils to Just Read and told them that reading is his super power and can be theirs too. Favourite books were shared and there were some great questions from our pupils for our visiting author.

Kerr’s first novel, The Sound of Whales won the 2014 Times Children’s Fiction Prize and his most recent book The Rise of Wolves was shortlisted for the Scottish Teenage Book Prize 2019. We are all now looking forward to seeing Kerr’s third book published and to reading it.

Our session with Kerr was supported by Scottish Book Trust Live Literature Fund.
