Book of the Month November 2019

Our November Book of the Month is very topical and has all you need to know about the world of politics!

POLITICS FOR BEGINNERS

by Alex Frith, Rosie Hore, Louie Stowell, Kellan Stover.

This hugely entertaining book does a great job of explaining politics… political systems, elections, voting and government and issues including feminism, human rights, freedom of speech and fake news.

Chapter 6 is ‘Big Questions and looks at questions from ‘Who’s responsible for the planet?’ to ‘What is terrorism?’ to ‘Why are some countries poor?’.

Your definitely have to check out the sections on ‘How to argue’ and ‘Learn to debate’.

Another reason to enjoy the book is that the explanations use pictures in a comic form which make it really easy to understand.

Politics is everywhere and there is so much to talk about and think about in this book. It will open your eyes to the world and inspire you to talk about politics and to question your beliefs – because you will be voting for them at a general election in the future!
