Harry Potter Book Night 2017

Harry Potter Book Night 2017

Thursday, 2 February saw our third Harry Potter event being celebrated in school, with the library transformed into Hogwarts Library. There were lots of wizarding fun, spellicious cakes and magic on offer. Star attractions included Slytherin Snakes, courtesy of our own Professor Slughorn. 80 pupils saw the snakes in their special snake booth. WOW!

The Potter Photo Booth did a roaring trade under the charge of Professor Trelawney, whilst Professor Snape taught a Transfiguration class.  This was a huge hit, with lots of pupils participating. Professor McGonagall performed the Sorting Ceremony and pupils and staff queued to find out which House they were in.  There was a reading throne, with Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone and the bean bags took a hit for the reading out loud.  One activity which provided much entertainment was Dress a Professor and we saw Professors Moody, Dumbledore and Hagrid amongst others. Dumbledore cake was on sale in the Pottermore Shop and was pronounced delicious. The event ended with The Hogwarts Hall of Fame Quiz, in which everyone was a winner!

A huge thank you to the Novelties Book Club and the library assistants for all their hard work preparing for a magical Harry Potter Book event. Thanks to all pupils who came along and joined in with another spellbinding event.  Huge thanks to our own professors and to the Drama department – for all their hard work and time given to ensuring a third memorable Hogwarts extravaganza. A very big thank you to Mr Gray – and his snakes – an incredibly popular attraction, yet again

We enjoyed another magical and memorable Harry Potter Book Night event, which helped to pass on the magic of JK Rowling’s books yet again.
