National Poetry Day 2016

On Thursday 6 October, we joined the nationwide celebration of poetry for everyone, everywhere. This year the theme was messages and S1 pupils write poems on postcards, which were read out in the library, whilst S4 and S6 pupils were composing poems as tweets to the S1s and these were displayed on posters in the library. We had lots and lots of poems on classroom doors, which helped to create a buzz about poetry and our staff poetry competition was “Message On a Bottle”, we had bottles bobbing in the library for all to read the poems. The lunchtime message was from the Science department with an exciting event called Secret Writing and its Mysteries.
