Novelties Book Club – Book Awards, Book Bingo & Secret Santa Planning – 4 December 2019

Wednesday 4 December was all about sharing first impressions of first books on the Grampian Children’s Book Award shortlist @GrampBookAward.

Kate loved The Disconnect by Keren David and the Q was asked: Could we disconnect from our phones for 6 weeks?

Michael really enjoyed D-Day Dog by Tom Palmer and all noted a link with Grace’s book, The Boy at The Back of the Class by Onjali Rauf.

This meeting was full of fun. And books.

  • Where was senior pupil, Rhys?

  • Christmas Book Bingo Challenge: what is the best book of 2019?

  • Kate organised Secret Santa for the end of term party.

No one noticed that there were no biscuits today .

Pupils also helped to choose our Book of the Month.

The Good Thieves by Katherine Rundell is a book that sparkles, is fun, has fab characters and is compulsive reading. Adventure, bravery & a circus too!

Perfect for the Christmas holidays and on the library desk now.
