S1 Book Talks – April 2017 – Keeping It Real

S1 pupils finish the book talk programme with non-fiction, or information, books.

Lots of pupils enjoy reading about real things, real people and real events and a variety of books are introduced and shared in the library periods during April.

Included are :Biographies of Usain Bolt and Stephen Hawkings and what inspired them, to Nasty Nature and Murderous Maths, discovering what was invented in Scotland and being horrified about the worst children’s jobs in history. Pupils also hear about the flip side of history and share their opinions about Mike the headless chicken….

Ther are lots of  books to discover and read and these books in the book talks are an introdction to them.
