Safer Internet Day – Emojis, Memes and Facebook

Internet Fun on Tuesday 7 February – Emojis, Memes and Facebook
We had our Safer Internet Day 2017 celebrations, in the library at lunchtime. There was fun and interactive sessions, focusing on emojis, memes and social media. Mrs Toonen, Mr Terron and pupils from the Debating Club hosted lively quizzes, online activities, debates and discussion, as well as games, with the aim of us all joining together to help create a better Internet.

Safer Internet Day 2017 was celebrated globally on Tuesday 7th February with the slogan ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’. We had planned to highlight the positive uses of technology with pupils and promote its safe, responsible and positive use, via a series of workshops in the library at lunchtime. These explored the ways that young people use images and videos to communicate online and how this can impact on their views, wellbeing and reputation.
