Sean Allan - 4th Dec

This week we had Sean Allan from S6 talk about the Falklands War in 1982. The content of the talk was really good. He talked about all the different battles of the war, one being the Battle of Goose Green. He told us about all the soldiers that had died and been injured from the British and Argentinian sides. In the end it was a British win. I found the talk really interesting and it was packed full of factsJpeg

Patrick Strachan - 13th Nov

Every Friday in the library we hold speakers corner. Mr Dugdale set the standard being our first speaker. He talked about Yuri Gagarin, the Russian soviet cosmonaut.  Personally we learnt a lot from his talk and I think we all enjoyed it.  It was a good turnout and we hope it will be the same for the upcoming weeks. We have lots of pupils and staff who will talk about the things they like.

Annabel Thomson - 18th Sept

Anabelle Thompson was the first pupil to do a presentation at speaker’s corner.  Her talk was called ‘My Life in Cupcakes’. It was a great talk and the pictures of cakes she had made were amazing. I wish I could be as good a baker as she is. At the end of her talk Anabelle handed out cupcakes that she had made and they were truly delicious. It definitely looked like everyone who came enjoyed them thoroughly! As the first pupil she set the standard very high.
