S1 and S2 book talks

S1 classes began with the theme of Adventure and focussed on the books Killer Game by Kirsty Mckay and the book dangerous Book for Boys by Conn Iggulden.

The big hit was the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore, with books flying off the shelves.

October was Supernatural month, with spooky tales from Neil Gaiman and Gill Arbuthnott and lots of requests for The Wardstone Chronicles by Joseph Delaney.

The S2 programme focusses on authors and the first talk was the books by Malorie Blackman. Noughts and Crosses series is hugely popular and there has been much interest in Malories’s newest title Chasing The Stars, as well as on Noble Conflict and Boys Don’t Cry.

October was all about the books of Juno Dawson, especially the novels Say Her Name and Under My Skin. Thrills and Chills! Pupils also heard about Juno’s non-fiction book Mind Your Head.
